Early quilts

Bush Friends

The result of an attempt at designing a quilt following the method outlined in One-of-a-Kind Quilts by Judy Hopkins.

My theme squares were appliqued Australian animals, the patterns for which (except for the Tasmanian Devil) were from Margaret Rolfe's book Australian Patchwork: a Step-by-Step Guide to Piecing, Quilting and Applique.

Given to Melissa Blyth, a great niece, who was very keen on Koalas at the time and wanted a Koala quilt.

Machine pieced and quilted - measures 50" x 86".
