Holland BlocksRound-the-Block round robin blocks made by members of Launceston Patchworkers and Quilters during 1995-96. Each person made a theme block and stitched it to a backing sheet. Each member of the group made the equivalent to six 4" blocks and basted to the backing sheet. The owner didn't see the quilt top until it was finished. The idea was taken from Round Robin Quilts by Pat Maixner Magaret & Donna Ingram Slusser. When each owner received their top back they could arrange the blocks as they wished and make more blocks to fill in the gaps. Pictured at left is the blocks I received from the group. My theme block was the block with the four windmills on it. Techniques used by participants included hand and machine piecing foundation piecing, hand applique and embroidery.
