Dimensions - 82 inches square

Requirements - based on fabrics at least 105 cms wide.

• Approx 3.5 metres assorted light scraps (for background)
• Approx 3.5 metres assorted medium and dark scraps

Cutting

Light Scraps	Cut 8 rectangles 5½"x3" Cut 48 3" squares
Medium Scraps	Cut 16 rectangles 5½"x3"
Dark Scraps	Cut 48 3" squares

1. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of each of 32 of the light squares.
   

2. With right sides together place a light square on top of one corner of a medium rectangle.
3. Sew the light square to the medium rectangle along the diagonal drawn on the light square.
   

4. Trim leaving a ¼" seam allowance and press seam allowance towards light fabric.
   

5. Sew another light square to the adjacent corner of the medium rectangle.
   

6. Trim and press seam allowance towards light fabric.

13.	Repeat steps 1-6 using the 8 light rectangles and remaining 16 dark squares to make 8 unit C. Unit C

Alternative Colour Schemes For those wishing to make a more colour coordinated quilt, there are a number of alternatives. Use bright tone on tones instead of the dark and medium scraps (using different colours for the darks and mediums) and replace the light background with a dark background (eg black or navy solid or tone on tone). Use only one fabric for the background Use several fabrics in one or two colours for the dark fabric and several fabrics in one or two colours for the medium fabric.
