Round robin quilt made by members of Launceston Patchworkers and Quilters. Each person made a central block and passed it on with a metre of one of their fabrics. The owner didn't see the quilt top until it was finished. The idea was taken from the article "Merry-go-Round Quiltmaking" in Quilter's Newsletter Magazine May 1994 - no books on round robins had been published at this time.
My central block is "Vagabond" from Judy Martin's Ultimate Book of Quilt Patterns and the fabric I included with my block was a multicoloured butterfly fabric with a navy background from Hoffman's.
The borders were:
Round 1
Make your own block.
Round 2
Border made of triangles (Lauree Brown).
Round 3
An applique border (Marj Dudman).
Round 4
Border made of squares and rectangles (Barabara Osborn).
Round 5
Border from curved patches (Liz Robertson).
Round 6
An "anything goes" border (Bet Woods).
Hand and machine pieced and hand quilted - measures 67½" x 68".
