
Mr Henry Tevelein
The death took place on Tuesday last, under sudden circumstances, of Mr. Henry Tevelein, a well known employee of the Oakbank Brewery. Mr Tevelein complained of feeling ill on Saturday and consulted a doctor. Although not feeling well, he was able to get about, until on Tuesday afternoon he was overcome by a seizure at the new Junction Hotel, where he resided, and died within a few minutes. The deceased, who was 69 years of age, was over 40 years ago employed by Messrs. Ferrier and Co. Later still he entered into partnership with a Mr. Bartlett in a business at Narandera. Many years ago he left here for Jerilderie, at which place he resided until about six years ago, when he returned to Narandera and entered the employ of Messrs. Lincoln and Co. as a book keeper. He was a member of the Citizens Band and also of the I. O.O.F. friendly society. He was well known to a large circle of friends by whom he was held in high esteem. The corpse was removed to St. Thomas' Church of England on Wednesday evening and a service was conducted before the funeral yesterday afternoon. The funeral was attended by a large number of friends including the citizens Band and members of the I.O.O.F.
The cause of death was heart failure.
Deceased is survived by his widow and a grown up family of three sons and three daughters. Mrs Tevelein resides in Sydney, and members of the family reside in Sydney, Goulburn, West Wyalong and Attunga. Deceased was a native of Launceston, Tasmania. He resided in the Narandera and Jerilderie districts for about half a century.
