Salisbury Hwy, Main South Road & Victor Harbor Road

The A13, essentially made up by the Salisbury Highway, Main South Road and Victor Harbor Road provides one of the premier north-south routes through metropolitan Adelaide and to the south coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula. Starting in the outer north-eastern suburb of Elizabeth, the A13 heads south west along John Rice Avenue and the Salisbury Highway to reach the interchange with Port Wakefield Road. Further south-west, the road traces Main South Road through the north & south-western suburbs to Darlington where the motorist can choose to drive on the Southern Expressway (depending on the time of day) or continue on Main South Road through Morphett Vale & Reynella (slow) as both roads meet again at Old Noarlunga. From Old Noarlunga, Main South Road continues south as the B23, while the A13 follows Victor Harbor Road, through the Southern Vales and up Willunga Hill to the small town of Mount Compass. The A13 continues south through rich dairy and sheep farming countryside eventually winding down to the holiday town of Victor Harbor.

Reynella-Old Noarlunga: Dual carriageway with one grade separated junction. Old Noarlunga-Willunga Hill: Super 2 with dual carriageway up and down Willunga Hill. Willunga Hill-Victor Harbor: Single carriageway with numerous overtaking lanes. Very busy road - premier traffic route through Adelaide and popular tourist drive south to Victor Harbor.
Speed Limit: Through Adelaide metro area 60-80km/hr. Old Noarlunga-McLaren Vale 100km/hr. McLaren Vale-Victor Harbor 110km/hr.
