Orroroo is a small town on the southern outskirts of the Flinders Ranges and lies at the junction of two major roads (B80 and B56). The town was settled in the mid 1870's as it lay on the original Burra-Blinman track (Copper transport road) but today serves essentially for the local sheep and wheat industries. The town, while quite small is incredibly attractive despite the dry, arid environment that surrounds it for most of the year - standout features are the beautiful, tree lined avenue that forms the main street and Tank Hill lookout, about 2km south of the town provides a spectacular view north over the town and into the Flinders Ranges.
