Stirling North

Stirling North is a small town 7km east of and acts primarily as a satellite town to Port Augusta and lies at the A1/B83 road junction. The town's railway station lies at a major rail junction linking the Port Augusta power station with the main east-west rail link as well as the coal rail link to Leigh Creek. It is also home the northern prison - as you can imagine the town holds plenty of action for the tourists. The town can however be an important service stop for travellers driving to the Flinders Ranges who don't wish to drive the unnecessary 7km into Port Augusta.
