Yankalilla

Yankalilla is a small town located on the south-western part of the Fleurieu Peninsula, approximately 70km south of Adelaide. The town, nestled in a superb valley and set amongst a series of ranges was first settled in the early 1840's (only a few years after Adelaide) and still has several historic buildings still standing (Bungala House and the Uniting Church are excellent specimens). Yankalilla, while in close proximity to the growing tourist town of Normanville, still remains as the civic and administrative centre for the south-western Fleurieu region and local dairying and wool industries.
