That may seem a very strange way to start a review, but that is exactly what it is, "a good book". There is nothing pretentious about it. Nothing added or taken away to make for more exciting reading. Just an honest account of the Vietnam War as one man saw it, up close and personal.
This is a Soldiers story, not the one that you'll find in the history books, just a good honest account of a Soldier doing his job in Vietnam.
Alan tells it warts and all. He has written it mostly for his family and perhaps to rid himself of some ghosts. A "good" read
