THE ZITA MARY CLINIC - HOW DO I GET THERE?

Click here to return to the main webpage for the Canberra One-Stop Cancer Web-Shop.

Calvary Hospital is located on the corner of Belconnen Way and Haydon Drive. There are two routes to get to the Zita Mary Clinic - either via the front entrance of the Hospital, or the rear Day Services entrance located near Accident and Emergency.

Parking is becoming more difficult at Calvary. The parking spaces at the front of the building can be full for most of the day, as are the parking areas to the north of the rear entrance. If stuck, and if you don't mind walking, try the parking areas to the north-west, tucked away in the middle of the complex. Paid parking will be introduced from 1 July 2006.

The front of the Hospital is being renovated but you may still enter through here. The Zita Mary Clinic is on the second level in the rooms to the right of the white entrance awning shown in the photo.

Either take the lift to Floor 2 or walk up one flight of stairs. The ground-level entrance is actually Floor 1. At the top of the stairs you will see this sign. Unfortunately, it does not yet identify the direction to the Zita Mary Clinic. Follow the arrows to the right (Emergency etc) and the Clinic is the first set of rooms on your right.

This is the corridor leading to the Clinic. The entrance is just opposite the corridor which the person in the photo is about to enter. There is a distinctive wood panel wall with the name on it.

From the back

It could be more convenient to enter via the Day Services entrance at the rear of the Hospital, next door to Accident and Emergency on one side and Mental Health Services on the other.

The Day Services entrance is next door to Accident and Emergency. Unfortunately there is no external sign showing the way to the Zita Mary Clinic. Walk along the covered way, through the doors, and turn left at the end of the corridor where there is a big wall sign "Floor 2".

You will come through the doors with the "Exit" sign above them. Proceed down this corridor. The Zita Mary Clinic is listed on the ceiling directory sign.

Calvary Health Care ACT conducts the Calvary Public Hospital, Calvary Private Hospital, Calvary Clinic and Clare Holland House (the hospice) in the ACT. The Clinic is part of the Public Hospital. Calvary Health Care is run by the Little Company of Mary, which is a Catholic Religious Order of nuns founded by Mother Mary Potter and hence you will see discrete religious symbols here and there, such as the Cross on this office wall. The Hospital maintains an active Pastoral Care unit which is available to everyone (including Oncology Clinic patients and carers) and which has links to religious ministers from all denominations.
