NEW KAMEN RIDER

(1979)

Kamen (masked) Riders are "kaizo ningen" (reconstructed humans or cyborgs) who take on some form of insect characteristics. They battle evil kaizo ningen. While hang gliding Hiroshi Tsukuba witnesses the attempted abduction of scientist by soldiers of the terrorist organization Neo Shocker. On landing, he drives off the soldiers. Later when he is critically wounded by a Neo Shocker mutant, the grateful scientist, who has been captured by Neo Shocker, convinces General Monster that he should be allowed to convert Hiroshi Tsukuba into a cyborg warrior (which is the only way to save Hiroshi Tsukuba's life). Hiroshi Tsukuba awakes as the new warrior of justice, Skyrider.
