Manage Phone Book

Manage phone book feature is an easy and convenient way to manage your list of contacts. You can select from default groups or you can also add a new group.

Add a new Group:

  1. Enter the Group name
  2. Click on "Add Group"

Add a contact

  1. Select a group from the group list
  2. Enter the Contact name and mobile phone number
  3. Click on "Add new Contact"

Delete a contact

  1. Select the group to delete the required contact.
  2. Select the contact to delete c. Click on "Delete selected contact"

Send SMS

The Send SMS feature allows you to send SMS to mobile phones on the Australian network. You can also send sms's to multiple users at any given time through the phone book.

Send an individual SMS:

  1. Click on the Group in the Phone book
  2. Select the required contact from the list below the Phone book
  3. From field is your name setup in our system. If you require to change the name in this field, please speak to us. This name will appear on the recipients mobile phone
  4. Type your message in the field below (max 160 characters)
  5. Click on "Send SMS"

Send multiple SMS's:

  1. Click on the Group in the Phone book
  2. Click on individual contact's you wish to send the SMS to.
  3. The selected contacts get added to the "To" field.
  4. Type your message and click on "Send SMS"

Message History

Message History lists the all messages sent from your account. It helps you keep a track of messages and when it was sent. It outlines:

  • Date message was sent
  • Mobile number message was sent to
  • Text message
  • Message sent from

General questions:

  • Is SMS a FREE service from Hotkey?
    No. It's not a free service. SMS will be charged at 20c per SMS and the charges will appear on your Hotkey internet bill.
  • If the recipient replies to the message where will I receive it?
    If the "From" field contains your mobile number, the recipient will be able to reply to that message. However, if the "From" field contains your name, the recipient will require to enter your mobile number manually on their phone.
  • Is there a limit on the number of SMS's I can send?
    No, but every SMS sent from your account is your responsibility (20c per SMS).
  • Can SMS be sent overseas?
  • No. Unfortunately no messages can be sent overseas at the moment.

  • What is an SMS message?
    SMS is refers to 'Short Message Service' and it is the ability to send and receive text based messages of up to 160 characters on your mobile phone.
  • What is Web 2 SMS?
    Web 2 SMS is the ability to send SMS's from the web to any mobile phone.
  • Which mobile phone carriers are supported?
    We support all Australian mobile phone carriers.
  • How long does it take for an SMS to reach the receiver?
    Usually, it takes around a minute but it might take longer in some circumstances.
  • Will people know who sent the SMS?
    Yes. The "From" field in the "Send SMS" section will include your name which is setup on our systems. If you require to change the name that appears in the "Field" section please contact us and one of our representatives can do it for you.
  • What happens if the recipient's mobile phone is turned off or no coverage?
  • The mobile service provider of the recipient will continue to try to deliver your message for up to 5 days before automatically deleting the message.
