international short film and food festival

Sydney Olympic Park has
been staging many national and international performances and exhibitions
that comprised its major public programming since Sydney Olympic Games
2000. Short Soup international short film and food festival is an initiative
by SOPA (Sydney Olympic Park Authority) to present and promote culturally
diverse communities in the Western Sydney region by mixing the two essential
ingredients Art and Culture over one-day celebration.
The selected films for competition will be presented in front of approximately
10,000 attendees in the Over Flow open-air venue at Sydney
Olympic Park between the hours of 7.30 and 9.30 pm; therefore, the curatorial
program cannot exceed 120 minutes in duration.
Selection Criteria:
1. The work must have 35mm screening format.
2. The work must not exceed 15 minutes in duration.
3. The work need not be related or about food.
4. The work must be from Asia, Africa, Middle East, Mediterranean, Eastern
Europe and South America.
5. The work must be a historical or/and contemporary reflection of the
region it represents.
6. The work must have English subtitles.
Curatorial Award:
$2000AUD will be presented to one winner for the (best film of the festival)
selected by the panel of judges.

with a VHS/DVD preview, publicity material and a short synopsis of the
work before the closing date to;
