Wildlife

In 2005 our District Revenue Officer designated all Revenue Department lands adjacent to and surrounding the slopes of the mountain as Wilderness forever. With enormous thanks to his ingenuity we are secure now with sufficient area to sustain a healthy wilderness and a variety of wildlife species. Their habitat will be encircled eventually by urban development, nevertheless the area allocated is vast. With the good rains and increased water-holding capacity on our site, in the last two years the number of deer has doubled and moreover they are not vanishing as previously, they are staying. The renovations of ponds in our area and the installation of the wildlife tank donated by the International Tree Foundation also increase their chances of surviving during our long hot summers.
