Arriving in Australia with her family in July 1949, she commenced work under a two year Government contract as a waitress in SA. in Strathalbyn and Adelaide, where the most important thing was to learn the English language. She continued to paint only in her spare time. With the experience of her studies she developed her own individual style By 1952, all her family settled in Melbourne where Eliza met her husband Martin and married in 1953. The demands of saving for a house, car and their two children took priority over her painting for many years.
From 1973 Eliza has participated in major exhibitions throughout Melbourne and has been represented in many galleries. Her credits include 20 highly successful solo exhibitions and numerous group shows with selected artists. Her subject matter ranges from city, scenes to harbour and seascapes, landscapes, bird and animal life in their natural environment, and still life.

Eliza is a realist artist. The adventure of exploring the diverse and endless beauty of Australia's vast land involves her in lots of travelling with her husband. Her particular interest in preserving the mood of the moment is reflected in her constantly changing subjects and interpretations. Her romantic impressionist style softy blends clarity with harmonious light effects in her studies. Inspired by the magic of ever changing mood created by the unique atmosphere of our great land, the interpretation of her works expresses feelings of warmth mid beauty. She is adept at capturing and conveying the wonder she feels.
