Dem 5 True Thugs, Straight off tha double glock. Tha Four "main" members of Bone Thugs n Harmony are Layzie (Steven Howse), Krayzie (Anthony Henderson), Bizzy (Bryon McCane) & Wish (Charles Scruggs). The 5th member is like a fence-sitter. Flesh-n-Bone (Layzie Bone's brother, Stanley Howse) is somewhat an on-and-off member of the Bone Thugs n Harmony click. His appearances are unfortunately to little, besides on the new album "BTNHRESSURECTION" In which he appears in nearly every song.

The Bone Thug phenomenon started back in highschool, around 1990...Layzie, Krayzie, and Souljah Boy (formerly a member of Bone Thugs' own record label "Mo' Thugs") started up a rap crew called "The Band-aid Boys" I have not heard any material from these days, however I understand that they didn't have the ultra-speed harmonic style that they have blessed us with, and become so well-known for possessing. That crew generally dismantled itself.

Then, the B.O.N.E Crew formed...Originally consisting of just Layzie, Krayzie & Wish. Then someone came to visit from Columbus, Ohio. This person was a young half italian, half black trouble-maker. His name was Bryon McCane, the one who we know and love as Bizzy Bone. This young man has been in and out of many foster homes, and Layzie's mom is thinking of fostering him. Bizzy finds out about the little hip-hop crew & leaves a song that he wrote on Layzie's bed. Layzie reads the song and realises that this kid has got some talent. He then takes the song to Krayzie, who also thinks that the song is dope. They then ask Bizzy to join their crew. Bizzy doesn't even hesitate, because he has always wanted to join a crew. This is the crew that we know as Bone Thugs n Harmony. Originally known as B.O.N.E Enterprise. B.O.N.E meaning "Buddahed Out Niggaz Everyday" In 1993, they dropped an underground album entitled "Faces Of Death"which contains such great songs as: "Flow Motion" and "Sons Of Assassins" These 2 songs, I would say are amongst the best songs Bone has ever made.
During that same year of 1993, they came to find out that Eazy-E, one of their favourite rappers, was coming to perform in their hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. They contacted Eazy-E and rapped for him over the phone, Eazy wasn't feeling them the first time and told them that he would get in touch with them. Weeks passed and no word from Eazy-E came. So, they bought tickets to the Eazy-E show & went backstage and rapped for him, he said "Oh yeah, you dem cats who rapped for me over da phone." He then told them to come to L.A and he would hook them up with a record deal. Later, they purchased one-way bus tickets to L.A and ever since then ,they have never looked back!

In 1994, They released the triple-platinum album "Creepin' on ah Comeup" which contained their first single, which almost automatically went Gold "Thuggish Ruggish Bone" They were so popular that year, that they Box voted them the #1 music group of the year, as "Creepin' on ah Comeup" was the most requested video in tha nine-quat!
In 1995, Bone released their first full-length album, an album which is the 2nd best selling hiphop/rap album of all time, and considered by most as the best Bone Thugs n Harmony album to date "E.1999 Eternal" There were 2 versions of this album released. The first version released contained the original "Crossroad" song and the explicit version of "East 1999". The second version was released after the success of "Tha Crossroads" (D.J U-Neek Mo' Thug Remix) This song was dedicated to the sad departure of the ever influential Eazy-E. This version didn't contain the 2 aforementioned songs, instead it contained "Tha Crossroads" (D.J U-Neek Mo' Thug Remix) and the edited version of "East 1999" This version of the album entered the Billboard Charts at #1 and would stay there for quite a few weeks. "Tha Crossroads" single also tied the beatles record for "fastest rising chart-topper" and as far as I know, still holds that record.
In 1996, many so-called "experts" were tipping that Bone Thugs were going to depart the music game as their style had no future in the industry. During this year, this is when the tension between Bone Thugs n Harmony and Ruthless Records started...and escalated, there was a time when Bone really wanted to leave Ruthless. They started to feel like they were getting ripped off by Ruthless, but however due to their loyalty to Eazy-E, they decided to stick with Ruthless, even though they all had hatred for "Black Widow"
The first release under the Mo' Thug label "Mo' Thugs Family Scriptures" goes platinum, and features such promising acts as Poetic Hustla'z, Graveyard Shift (R.I.P Tombstone), Souljah Boy and Ken Dawg.
Flesh-n-Bones solo album also gets released and contains the hit single "World So Cruel" feat. Run from Run DMC, This whole album is quite spooky, but I consider it amongst the best! Flesh displays his awesome talent with his hyper-speed rapping and incredible slurring phrases. He teams up with fellow Bones on the song "Playa Hater" and also teams up with Fat Joe & Punisher (Big Pun) on "No Mercy" I think that this song has got one of the best choruses of all time as rapped by Big Pun "Here comes the pain, one in your brain frame. Niggas is thinkin' this shit is a game, slip in a clip in the MAC. Clack. What's my name? Big Pun. Go for your guns, son, let's get it on. My vest is on, protectin' home, it's only Flesh-n-Bone."
In 1997, Bone release their 3rd album, "The Art Of War" which also debuted at #1 on the billboard charts. This album featured some excellent songs, and I think it is an extremely underrated CD. Many consider it the worst Bone album to date, some even consider it an overall "bad album" It may not be E.1999 Eternal material, but it is still a great album, it features songs such as "Thugluv" w/ 2Pac, "Look Into My Eyes", "Body Rott", "If I Could Teach The World". This album was basically a huge "Diss" to all the clone Bone's. With the video clip of "Look Into My Eyes" portraying that very message. Also songs like "Wasteland Warriors" ("What if we slowed it down, then nigga you could hear me, I know niggaz would fuck around, and say we tried to steal your style", "It's part of no static, see, we just out to get paid, but, oh no, niggas heard the flow and wanted a piece of the cake") "U Ain't Bone" ("I'm sendin' a message to all you imposters, all hatin' in my business, when I see you I'm a drop you. Get slugged and get drugged, my niggas'll hustle to pay the judge. Got you, when I spot I should pop you, even the boss was tellin' me not to, but I won't stop until they get shot, when they get out the hospital, I bet they shot, too.") "Look Into My Eyes" ("What makes a nigga think he could bite my shit and call his shit original? What's worse, tellin' people you made the style we put down three fuckin' years ago. And that's just like a nigga, wanna take all the credit. I bet it didn't even occur that we would eventually meet with ya, kid. Don't crash, collide, lock up with the enemy.") This double album was also the perfect opportunity for them to show off all their Mo' Thug talent, with the song "Mo Thug Family Tree"
In 1998, The 2nd Mo' Thug Project "Mo Thugs Family Scriptures Chapter II: Family Reunion" was released, this album went platinum and brought to show the showcase of local talent residing in their hometown of Cleveland. The only non-Cleveland signings they have are MT5 and Powder. They dedicated this album to Paul"Tombstone"O'Neil who was shot and died a few months earlier. Eventually, the group which he belonged to "Graveyard Shift" disbanded and the remaining members teamed up with a couple of other people and formed the even spookier "Kneight Rieduz"
The first Bone Thug solo project came to launch in October of 1998. Bizzy Bone's solo album entitled "Heaven's Movie" was released and did not live up to many fans' expectations, however, it is still a great album which features such gems as "On The Freeway", "Thugs Cry", and what I think is the stand out of the album "Nobody Can Stop Me." Bizzy named it "Heaven's Movie" because "It's like eyes [are] watching [your] every step. [God] tunes into your channel. Because we all have electricity in our bodies, and I believe that's part of our kinetic bodies, which is part of our soul -- which lies in the eyes, you know." He also chose not to team up with many people because of reasons, financial...
"People who really wanted to help me," Bizzy told MTV, "I didn't have the sufficient funds for them to do that, and favors get forgotten and things like that. I just think everything worked out for the best, because I believe God controlled the whole project." and creative...
"I think it was the best thing for me to do," he added, "to come new, to comebrand new. New millennium fashion, just like my little brother, Mr. Majesty, andall those artists who are real worthy, been in boot camp and are finally ready to go to war."
1999, The year is which E.1999 Eternal becomes the 2nd best selling rap/hiphop album of all time!!! It goes diamond! (10,000,000 copies sold) The only album to do better is 2Pac's "All Eyez On Me" album which sold 14,000,000 I think.
1999 is the year of Thug Mentality, released in March 1999, featured such artists as Fat Joe, Big Pun(R.I.P), Mariah Carey, The Marley Brothers, 8-ball & MJG & others. Quickly going platinum, Krayzie Bone's solo album "Thug Mentality" which contains the hits "Thug Mentality", "I Still Believe", the last song recorded with Tombstone before he passed away "Silence", another clone bone diss "World War" which is directed towards Twista and The Speedknot Mobstaz ("They clones that look and sound like Bone. Give a muthafucka more than Speedknots. And when he run up to get punked, give a nigga lumps. Y'all niggas ain't Mobsters, 'cuz if it was the mob nigga, somebody would've been shot ya.")
Some people said that It shouldn't have been a double album for a first solo effort, and it was a bit weak, I think there were a few weak links in the album, but nothing significant, however if it was a 16-17 song, single CD It really would've been something special.
2000! Bone is back, "BTNHRESSURECTION" is completed! There styles have changed a little, more to the r&b'ish tip on songs such as "Ressurection and "Change The World". However, there are also a few songs there to remind us that they didn't become famous for their singing. "Battlezone" and "2 Glocks" are perfect examples of this. "Weed Song" keeps their tradition of putting a song about smoking marijuana on each of the groups LP's intact. Overall, it isn't exactly E.1999 Eternal material, but by no means is it weak! It is definately a great album, and if anyone doesn't have it, I say buy it now!! Along the journey, Bone Thugs have recieved numerous awards & accolades. They have also gained the respect of just about the entire music industry.
