ABOUT ME:


I think I should tell you a bit about myself, Where I live, What I do. etc....

My name is Colin Wenzel.
I was born in AUSTRALIA, in the state of New South Wales. (NSW). in 1960.
(Wow !! That was a while ago, seems like just yesterday ?)
I lived in NSW until I was 10 or 11. then we moved to Queensland.

For about 25 years I lived on the SUNSHINE COAST in a town called MOOLOOLABA.
It is about 100km North of Brisbane.

In July 2010 I moved to a quiet little island just off the coast of Brisbane, called RUSSELL ISLAND,
where I now have a nice house and a large backyard in a nice forested area of the island.


From about 17, I have been: (in chronological order)

1: A Telecom Technician.
2: An Announcer. (doing voice overs for ads)
3: Cinema & Drive-In Theatre Projectionist.
4: Bannana & Zuccini (marrow) Farmer. (dads farm, I had to pay the rent.)
5: Audio Technician, (repairing sound equipment) for a chain of theatres.
6: Audio & Television Technician. (my first shop)
7: Amiga owner. (1986) Well it was a major job paying for it !!
A1000+4MB RAM BOARD. It cost me $1800.00
I needed to learn about computers, because they started appearing in TV's.
Started programming in BASIC, Then in 'C', Then with ASM, then others.
8: Electronics Technician, Computer Programmer.
9: Added Hardware Engineer to my forte'.
I manufactured miscellaneous 680xx based hardware & periferals.
Needed to learn: Lattice PDS + Pic-ASM too. I still write a lot of software.

So there you have it, I have been rather busy.
I am the oldest of 2 children, I have a sister who is 7 years
younger & married with 2 children & lives about 140km away.
