The PG4-HQ is a static image generator unit, designed for situations that require a
full colour,
high quality image to be displayed.
These units are ideal for MATV systems in Hotels / Motels that utilize the TV sets
to listen to radio broadcasts.
The PG4-HQ will provide a stable syncronising signal for the Television Receivers
as well as providing a
means of displaying service information, such as a channel guide.
Any television standard still video image, can be captured & stored in the internal digital memory.
The video source can also be TV Cameras & Computers with standard composite video output.
Technical:
** This unit has 1 Megabyte of high speed static memory, backed up by a 3 volt lithium cell.
** Estimated memory hold-up time is 10-15 years.
(with no external power applied.)
** Unlimited reprogrammability.
** Low power usage, typically less than 3 watts.
** Supplied with 230-250 volt plugpack fitted.
** PG4 unit has 4 RCA video output sockets.
** Capable of driving 4 seperate modulators / monitors into 75 ohm load.
** Horizontal resolution is ~800 pixels / line,
(PAL format)
with a pixel clock running @ 12.5Mhz
** Better than 6Mhz video bandwidth after internal filtering.
** Programmer unit has a single RCA video input socket.
** Available in quantities & circuit board only purchases.
** 12 month warranty.
NB: A single programmer unit can service a whole fleet of PG4's.

Artwork Service:
We can supply the PG4 units pre-programmed with your prefered imagery.
Either, supply your logo as an image file to us,

with information on the text required, or just provide text information
required & we will render it on a stock background.
The additional artwork costs are:
** No additional charge to capture your completed imagery.

** No additional charge to render text ONLY on a stock background. (nothing fancy)
** AUD $50.00
to provide editing service to merge your artwork onto a stock background & add text.
** Anything else, call $$.
Format Info:
We will only accept the following image formats:
JPG, GIF, TIFF, PNG, ILBM, IFF.
Any other formats are not acceptable.
Full screen (P.A.L) resolution for artwork should be at least 768x576 pixels.
Although larger resolutions (ie: 800x600) can be reduced to fit.
If supplying the artwork yourself, you should be aware of some of the problems
you may encounter, if you are using standard television receivers to display the image.
** TV sets often overscan the picture, you should make sure that you do not have
critical information within the outer 15% of the picture frame, it may finish up off sceeen.
** TV sets do not generally like high contrast images, avoid sudden jet black to
white transitions, they may cause horizontal blanking streaks on low quality TV receivers.
** Avoid peak intensity coloured or white areas at all costs, as stationary bright areas
on a picture tube will burn the phosphor coating over a long period of time,
your customer may not appreciate being able to read your logo even when the set is turned off.
NOTE: We will reject your artwork solely on this basis, if you do not heed this warning.
** Avoid using small text, observe what happens with small text on TV transmissions,
the lower quality sets may blur it to be unreadable, always use a text font that
would equate to text at least 10mm tall on a standard 52cm TV screen.
** What looks good on a high quality computer monitor is never the same on a TV screen.
