We are Frank and Karen Bernabo and we live on 10 acres in the heart of the Yarra Valley in Victoria Australia. This give our cats a lovely view from the cattery, across the fields and beyond.
We started in 1986 with a Seal Point Female and bred our first litter two years later. From this mating we kept a Seal Point Female which had good type. Shortly afterwards we purchased two show quality Blue Point Females; they were unrelated and had beautiful type and temperament. One of these girls carried chocolate and we then obtained a male and female lilac point to start off our Lilac and Chocolate Point breeding program.

This increased our gene pool enormously and as outcross Chocolate and Lilac kittens were difficult to obtain we used our original Blue and Seal Points in the breeding program.

We produced Chocolate carriers which were then mated back to a Chocolate or Lilac point. We also introduced Cream points which carried the Chocolate gene and this produced our first Lilac Torti points. Now all our cats which are not Chocolate or Lilac point carry the chocolate gene. This is the result of an eleven year dedicated program to develop our Chocolate and Lilac point Birman lines.

Frank favours the Chocolate Points whereas Karen has a weakness for the Lilacs.
