Bill has seen many people killed. He has witnessed the unspeakable cruelty that we think we name when we hear the word torture. He has seen the hands of many people including women & children, cut off. Think of what such an action means in a society where people must work with their hands to survive. Living now in Australia has given a new outlook on life. He is part of the worshipping community Church of Christ at Pendle Hill, Sydney. We have not given Bill any handout but he works at our Community Care/Welfare warehouse where he has proven to be a decent, hardworking, sensitive fellow who just wants to live in peace. Nine times Bill had been a member of Sierra Leone National Soccer Team. He scored 4 goals in his last six matches played in the African Cup tournament where Sierra Leone were runners-up to Nigeria. This July, Bill will be Head Coach at two of Towards the Goal Soccer Camps held on the Central Coast. His comment when I asked Bill to be head coach was that it would be a "Big challenge, which I was looking for". Bill is still seeking permanent residence in Australia and would have you pray trusting God for this acceptance. Pray trusting God also for Bill as he take advantage of the many ministry opportunities that present themselves through sport. |
