Unfortunately Tasmania has lost the majority of it's country music festivals it was recently announced that the Devonport Gold Guitars Concert will not be held in 2004 but should go ahead in 2005.
The longest running country music festival, (still running), in Tasmania is the Launceston Country Music Festival. Held in the second week of February in the grounds behind the Australian Italian Club at Prospect Vale on the outskirts of Launceston.

This is a one day event held in the grounds behind the Australian Italian Club
in the Launceston suburb of Prospect Vale. The festival began in 1989 and,
unlike all other Tasmanian country music festivals,
this one continues to run.
Some of the mainland artists to perform at Launceston have included, Billy
Bridge, Sandra Humphries, Allan Webster, Patrick Webster, Carter and
Carter, Donella Plane, Chad Plane, Ted Egan, The Feral Swing Katz, Pixie Jenkins, Anne Kirkpatrick, Hot Diggety, Greg
Williams, Shaza Leigh, Brian Letton, Lindsay Butler, Barry Thornton, Craig
Giles, Hank and Donna Koopman, Craig Byrne, Corinna Cordwell, Grant Lhurs, Glenn
Jones, Christina George, Greg Harrison, Lois Hall, Chris Callaghan, Liz Crago,
Ron Odgers, Paul McCloud and Ray Stuchbury.
