The Tasmanian Country Music Foundation Inc. began operating on July 19th 2002.
The aim of the foundation is to preserve the history of Tasmanian Country Music, it's artists and identities.
Wall Of Renown
The second annual Tasmanian Country Music Foundation Heritage Day was held at The Australian Italian Club, Prospect on Saturday, February 7.
The event, held in honor of past Tasmanian country music artists, features an induction onto the Tasmanian Country Music Wall of Renown.
This year the plaques of Glen Green and Jazzer Smith joined Dick Parry, Athol McCoy, Kevin Shegog, Paul Lester, Max Kettle, Beau Chatwin, Dudley Higgs and Graeme Hesketh on the wall.
The afternoon featured guest artist Trevor Day plus many artists from all parts of Tasmania including, Jack Munting, Debbie Parry, Grady Vincent (son of the late Max Kettle), Bounty, Mick Wilson, Jamie Davis, Gary Smith, Frank Sargent, The Cradle Mountaineers, Ralph Proctor, Garry Ivory, Lash Larue, Wayne Riley, Murray Higgs, The Wildwood Trio, The Chadettes, Amanda Trott, Patrick Webster, MC - Spud Corbett and surprise guest - Mary Newton.
