Part 2
Please read all instruction before beginning your blocks. You
may wish to use an alternative method to the one given to complete
the individual blocks.
Detailed instructions are given for rotary cutting methods and
machine piecing.
A ¼" seam allowance is to be used throughout.
Cutting
| Light Scraps |
Cut 16 strips 4½" x 20" or equivalent.
Cut at 4½" intervals to create 4½" squares - cut 64
squares. |
Construction
- Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of each of the 128 dark
2½" squares set aside in the instructions for part 1.

- With right sides together place a dark square on top of one
corner of a light square.
- Sew the 2½" dark square to the 4½" light square
along the diagonal drawn on the dark square.

- Trim leaving a ¼" allowance and press seam allowance
towards dark fabric.
- Sew another 2½" dark square to an adjacent corner of the
4½" light square.

- Trim and press seam allowance towards dark fabric

- Make 64 of these units that should each measure 4½"
square.
