Cutting

Light Scraps Cut 32 4¼" squares
Medium Scraps Cut 16 4¼" squares
Dark Scraps Cut 16 4¼" squares

Construction

  1. Repeat steps 1-4 of part 2 using 16 of the light squares and the medium squares to construct 32 light/medium bias squares measuring 3 7/8".
     
  2. Repeat steps 1-4 of part 2 using the remaining 16 light squares and the dark squares to construct 32 light/dark bias squares measuring 3 7/8".

    C D   Y Z

     
  3. Draw a diagonal on the wrong side of the light/medium squares from point W to point Z.
     
  4. With right sides together place light/medium bias square on a light/dark bias square so that points A & X, B & W, C and Z and D & Y are together,
     
  5. Sew ¼" either side of diagonal and then cut along the diagonal. Press open. Construct 64 unit E which should measure 3½" square.
