What are Yowies?
Yowies are a Cadbury confectionary product.

Each chocolate "egg" contains a collectable kit form toy based on a range of Australian and New Zealand native animals, assembly instructions, and a description of the animal and its habitat.

As well as the animal there are 6 "Yowies". These are solid figures and represent the 'keepers' of each environmental region.

They were the brainchild of Geoff Pike and famed author Bryce Courtenay.

Introduced on to the Australian market in 1997, they have become the biggest collectable phenomenon to hit Australia in the last 50 years or so.

Series One consists of 50 animals and 6 yowie men.

Series Two consists of 50 animals.

Series Three consists of 50 animals and 6 Grumkins, who are the environment destroying enemy of the yowies.

Series Four consists of 50 animals and 6 put together yowie men.  There are also the 6 crystals which are representative of each yowie man set inside a magical crystal, and the lord of the yowie kingdom, Lord Balthizar.

Christmas Yowies  released in time for Christmas 1999, each of the original men have been re-created wearing christmas costumes.

Lost Kingdoms  Series A consists of 50 prehistoric animals.  Series B and C are rumoured to be following sometime soon.
