Gordo Giantrider - 345 points You may take Gordo as either a Regiment of Reknown or an independant Orc character. If the latter, he may be your warlord, and replace the one from the main army list, or he can simply be a big boss. To take Gordo in an Orc army, you must have at least one unit of Orcs (not Savage Orcs or Black Orcs). Gordo was an Orc from the Broken Tooth clan, who often captured and trained monsters for their Waaagh!s. Amongst the tribe were a group of talented Orcs who were somewhat more successful than others at training hideous beasts such as griffon, hippogriffs, and spiders. Gordo was one of these, and was known for keeping a pet cockatrice, amongst other things. Gordo really enjoyed his work. He was the best in his tribe at breaking new monsters, and he gained great prestige riding them into battle, sometimes even taking the field on a beast not yet tamed. Gored, clawed, and bitten many times, Gordo enjoyed it all, too thick to be put off. Gordo was a bit odd for an Orc - he was given to thinking about things like what next. He dreamed of being the greatest beastmaster the world had ever seen. And so, when finally he had tamed and ridden one of every monstrous creature known to the Old World, Gordo hit upon his most daring and maniacal exploit yet - he was determined to ride to battle atop the shoulders of a giant. Being far too stupid to realise that this just can't be done, he went ahead and did it anyway. The tale of how Gordo captured a giant to ride is far too long to relate here - suffice to say that many broken bones and a goodly deal of stolen Bugman's XXXXXX were involved in an epic struggle. Eventually, Gordo rose to fame and infamy throughout the Old World, even on occasion leading his own small Waaagh!, on the back of Maawbeer, particularly in the Moot, where both Gordo and his giant discovered a great taste for halflings. His current whereabouts are unknown, but it is said that he has often been seen amongst mercenary companies, for the usual fee - a dozen halflings each day. He wields a huge sword, which, whilst not being a double handed blade, still confers a +2 strength bonus. There is nothing magical about this blade - it is just very, very big. Rides: Gordo rides Maawbeer, his tame giant. Magic Items: Gordo is a big boss, and may have up to two magic items. Special Rules: All the rules for riding a monster apply to Gordo, except the monster reaction rules. Maawbeer isn't too bright, and should Gordo be struck down it may take the better part of a day before he realises that something's not quite right. In fact, if it weren't for the fact that he's the only one to feed him, Gordo would probably not be missed! Gordo is a genius (in his own demented way) when it comes to capturing and taming monsters. Because of this, any army accompanied by Gordo may have one of its monsters unaffected by the bound monster rule. Once again, comments/criticism: too cheap? unbalancing?
