Covered in warpaint, armed and armoured with bone and stone, screaming their chilling warcries as they race frothing into battle - such are the Wildskins... Variations As you will notice, this list differs quite a bit from the standard Orcs and Goblins list. There are many troop types missing, some extra options, and different placement of units within the categories. This is because this list is intended to represent the Wild Waaagh!, consisting of Forest Goblins and their fellow primitives, the Savage Orcs. Along with them come the units you would expect to find in their homes - the deep, dark forests and jungles. You wont find Night Goblins or BigUns, but you will find far more Spider Riders and Savage Orc Boar Boys. Unless otherwise stated, assume that all the rules and options from the main Orcs and Goblins list apply. If there are any differences, they will be pointed out. For this reason most details for troop types are not given - it isnt really necessary, you can just refer to the main list. Also keep in mind that this list is designed with 2000 point or less games in mind - normally around 1500 points. 2000 is about the largest collection of Forest Goblins and Savage Orcs you might sanely expect to find. If you really want to use a larger army (and actually have more than 2000 points worth of these troops), then just add one to the number of characters entry on the usual characters table for your size game. Choosing Characters Your army may contain the following characters. You dont have to have this many, and you must have at least one (the general), but you have the option. Remember, the total number of characters includes Lords. Army Value Maximum Characters Lords < 2,000 4 up to 1 2,000+ 5 up to 2 If you should choose to have more than one Lord, you may not have two Warbosses or two Great Shamans - you must have one of each. Note: Use the Goblin character entries in the army list for Forest Goblin characters, substituting giant spiders for wolves and dis-allowing wolf chariots. Champions, Musicians, and Standard Bearers Use the main army list when buying command models for units. A standard bearer from the following units may carry a magic banner worth up to 50 points: Savage Orc Boar Boys or Forest Goblin Spider Riders. Forest Goblin Shamans Forest Goblins live with spiders, even worshipping them. Shamans go even further, having them live on their bodies. Because of this, they are bitten fairly regularly. All this spider venom has a curious effect - they tend to be slightly more resistant than other greenskins to Waaagh! magic mishaps. To represent this, when Forest Goblin Shamans miscast, they may re-roll their first (and only this first) roll on the Waaagh! magic miscast table, but the re-roll is taken with a -1 modifier - thus you can never use this ability to roll a 6 on the table. This applies to all miscasts, not just the first miscast of the game, and remember that you cannot, for any reason, re-roll a re-roll. Lords Warbosses Savage Orc Warboss 125 pts / Forest Goblin Warboss 65 pts Great Shamans Savage Orc Great Shaman 190 pts / Forest Goblin Great Shaman 160 pts Equipment: Forest Goblins may ride a giant spider (+18 pts) or a gigantic spider (+50 pts). They have the following profile: M5, WS3, BS0, S5, T4, W4, I1, A2, LD7. They are monstrous mounts. Heroes Big Bosses Savage Orc Big Boss 75 pts / Forest Goblin Big Boss 35 pts Shamans Savage Orc Shaman 67 pts / Forest Goblin Shaman 60 pts Equipment: Forest Goblins may ride a giant spider (+12 pts). The hard hitting units will be the Boar Boys and Trolls, supported by the Forest Goblin foot and Gigantic Spiders. The Snotlings are, as ever, damned good bogging troops. With the units going up the flanks, it is probably best to have the missile-armed units in toward the centre, so that they can fire as much as possible. This sort of army is, I have found, one of the better ones for taking on Wood Elves - you can play them at their own game to some extent, by using woods for cover and moving through them rapidly, but concentrated shooting will still be a large problem. If you want to hit even harder, you have Ogres and Giants at your disposal, or simply more Boar Boys - but they come in small numbers, and should something go wrong... This army should have real problems with something that is not only good in combat but which can take damage as well as dish it out. Dwarfs, Chaos, and Skaven would be a real challenge.
