MEETINGS

There are three different types of Club meetings:

  1. Annual General Meeting
  2. General Meetings
  3. Committee Meetings

Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting is held at the beginning of each fishing (financial) year. Only financial members are entitled to speak or vote at this meeting.

The business transacted includes the election of Office holders, presentation of annual reports, setting club by-laws and a review of activities including competition rules.

General Meetings

These meetings are club get togethers where members get a chance to socialise, educate themselves, discuss items of general or particular interest and talk about fishing. Guest speakers, workshops and videos are just some of the activities that take place. Members are encouraged to invite their friends, as visitors are always welcome.

The business of running the club is not usually transacted at these meetings, but often, items of importance are raised and discussed. The Club Office holders normally present reports on what has been happening in their particular areas of interest. Feedback on current issues is sometimes sought on issues affecting not just the club, but recreational fishing generally.

General Meetings are normally held on every third Friday of each month at the Caboolture Bowl at 7.30pm. All are welcome..

Committee Meetings

These meetings are called Committee Meetings because it is compulsory for committee members either to be present or to tender an apology. All members are welcome to attend and are encouraged to do so. The business of Committee meetings is to deal with the day to day running of the club. This may include Treasurer’s reports, correspondence, organising coming events and other such tasks.

The minutes of these monthly meetings are available for members to peruse at General Meetings. Any member wishing to attend one of these meetings should contact a Committee member first, so as to confirm the time and place of the next meeting. Committee members host these meetings on a rotating basis and generously make their own homes available to do so.

Committee meetings are normally held on the first Friday of every month, but this is varied occasionally according to the wishes of the host.
