John Carmody, son of Roderick [Roger] Carmody and Mary Ann Myers, was born c 1833 in Co Clare,Ireland. John married Mary Wilson on the 5th Feb 1861 at Warrnambool, Victoria. Mary was the widow of Thomas Delaney, another settler in the Warrnambool area. John and Mary Carmody had seven children Mary Carmody.born 1862 Dennington. died 1875.Warrnambool Patrick Carmody born 1864 Hawthorn. died 1864. John Carmody born 1865 Dennington, died 1923 Warrnambool.unm Letitia Carmody born 1868 Dennington.married John Willis.[W.bool] Michael Carmody born 1879 Dennington. married Margt O'Keefe [W.bool] Thomas Carmody born 1872 Dennington.married Mary OBrien .[Terang] Hugh Carmody born 1878 W.bool married Catherine Sheedy [Terang.Melb] John Carmody died in 1895 in Warrnambool and is buried at the Warrnambool Cemetery with his wife Mary Wilson who died in 1917 at the W.bool hospital John's father, Rody Carmody came to Victoria in his later years, and owned land around the Mepunga / Nirranda district.
