"Jack' Sheedy

'Jack' Sheedy, born Mudgee (NSW) married at Captains Flat (NSW) on the 6th
of June 1894 to Miss Ellen O'Rourke (the daughter of George O'Rourke -labourer,
and Annie McGorrill.)
Jack stated he was a bachelor and usually resided at Captains Flat where he
worked as a labourer.He also recorded that his parents were Patrick Sheedy
(labourer) and Katherine Thompson.
Ellen O'Rourke married with the consent of her mother (as Ellen was then under
the age of 21 years) and Ellen's occupation was recorded as a 'Lady' who resided
also at Captains Flat.
The witnesses for the ceremony held at the Registrar's Office were James (?Loung)
and Jane Mary Gibson and the officer was Charles L McDonagh (Registrar).
Captains Flat is now described as a "quaint little village' situated between
Queanbeyan and Jerangle in NSW but was the predominantly a mining town.
