Connell) 2.Mary Sheedy 1853c Mary Sheedy born Ireland. parents listed as Patrick Sheedy and Margaret Cosgrove.(on Mary's death certificate) 1866 Aug 20th.Patrick Kearney and Catherine McGee married at Shoalhaven. cert no 3094.NSW. Patrick was listed as a bachelor ,Catherine as a widow, (husband's name Michael Dagan Ireland.) also her death certificate stated she was married to a ? Connell. So at this point in time, Catherine McGee would appear to be her maiden name,under which she (incorrectly) married Patrick Kearney (as her married name was Dagan then she should have married under that legal name). A John Connell was the witness at her marriage to Patrick Kearney, so is this her son from a first marriage, was Dagan as second marriage, and thus Patrick Kearney a third? Is Dagan = Deegan? Catherine's death certificate states her mother's maiden name was McConnell,her father McGee. So there is some history associated with Catherine McGee that should be sorted out. This cannot be the same Mary Sheedy, as this particular mother Mary was 23yo and born at Yarralumla,whereas Mary Kearney nee Sheedy was born in Ireland. 1878 a Catherine Sheedy born in Queanbeyan. illeg.child of Mary Sheedy. father not listed. She is probably the same Catherine Karney (sic) who claimed later to be the daughter of Patrick Kearney and Catherine Sheedy Catherine Sheedy was born on the 7th April 1878, her mother Mary Sheedy was listed as being 25 years of age (so born c1853). and born Ireland. This fits with the known birth date of Mary Kearney/nee Sheedy. 1882 Nov. 9th.at Queanbeyan. (so born c 1843). Her father listed as Hugh McGee, mother as Mary McConnell.First married to ? Connelly when she aged 17 years. In Ireland. 2nd to Patrick Carney at Shoalhaven when she aged 23. Both normally resided in Queanbeyan,and the witnesses for the marriage were Henry John Sammon and Annie (Maria?) Sammon. Ryde. 1913 Katherine Kearney,daughter of Mary Sheedy (stephdaughter of Patrick Kearney) divorces from 1st husband Martin Cassidy.(on grounds of desertion). in the divorce papers is a copy of her first marriage certifate,showing she married as Kate Karney. Katherine Kearney remarried to James Simmers on the 24th June at St Stephens Church, Bathurst. 1916 Kate Simmers twins born 18th Jan 1916.(Jessie Wishart Simmers and James Simmers) at Narromine.
