Sandhurst Victoria. shipping arrival: c1852 Victoria. In 1885 a Bridget Sheedy (nee Nailor) died at Sandhurst. Her death certificate shows that her husband's name was Timothy, that they had no children and Bridget at least had been in Victoria since around 1852. Bridget's death certificate shows that she passed away on the 5th of December 1885, at (?Casley) street Sandhurst. She was 70 years of age, a labourers wife, and her doctor was James Eadie (M.B). Bridget's death cause was given as "enteritis',and she was buried at Sandhurst Cemetery on the 7th of December. The undertaker was Thomas Oakley and the witnesses to the burial were George and John Redpath. Denis Carmody, a cousin of Bridget's, was the informant for her death and was then (1885) living at Raywood. He stated that Bridget was born in Co Clare and that she had married there to Timothy Sheedy when she was around 35yo (so c 1840).Denis stated that Bridget had no children, and that she had been 33 years in Victora (so arrived c 1852).   Family Researchers: Notes * = sighted original record.
