From the Visitors Book 19th May, 2000  It's day one.  Already I am overwhelmed by the hospitality and stunning cottage.  I look forward to waking in the morning to see the gardens that everybody speaks so highly of.  I'm here for a week of escaping the pressures of the business world and trying to regain my health...... Sadly day 9 has come.  Have had a wonderful holiday here.  The gardens and surrounds are indeed stunning.  Life here has been relaxing and totally enjoyable.  Thankyou Bob and Dot for hospitality that has extended far beyond my expectations.                                              Kirsten Ford - Wantirna South 12-17th November 2000  Thankyou Bob and Dot for another very enjoyable and relaxing break.  It has been lovely seeing you both again.  I have enjoyed seeing the difference in the garden compared to 6 months ago.  Have also enjoyed the active birds playing in the garden.  I hope it's not too long before I can visit again.                                              Kirsten Ford.

 

Letter published in the Bendigo Advertiser  23/10/2000 Sir - As the lucky winner of the Bendigo Advertiser/Tourism Victoria competition back in May, I am writing to say a very sincere thank you for making this great prize available. A friend and I spent last weekend at the Katandra Gardens Bed and breakfast at Wandin in the Yarra Valley, and it was a most enjoyable and interesting time. The owners, Dot and Bob O'Neill, could not have been more friendly and helpful, and the cottage we stayed at was a real home away from home, with every possible facility provided. The bed and breakfast, set in eight acres of magnificent gardens, which were at their best, was also in close proximity to the other local tourist attractions, including the Tesselaar tulip farm and the Warratina lavender farm. Spectacular views of the Yarra Valley and the abundant birdlife on the property were also enjoyed from the balcony of our cottage. We would recommend Katandra Gardens to anyone wanting a relaxing weekend (or longer) stay, and again extend our thanks to the Addy and Tourism Victoria for donating this prize.                                                                                 Margaret E Pitson, Hargreaves Street, Bendigo.

 

Visitors from Singapore      2-4 Jan 2001 What a heavenly paradise for the young and old .....  it is love at first sight. Reminds me of Shangri-la paradise where time stood still.  Love the well equipped kitchen, the well-stocked fridge, the sweets, the chocolates, the super-comfortable bed, the calendar. the flowers, the garden, the lake, the beautiful decorations, everything. Appreciate the attention to every single detail. Thanks Bob & Dot, for providing us with this wonderful place for us to recharge ourselves.  My family is grateful for your generous hospitality.  We'll definitely be back to Katandra Gardens the next time we visit Australia. Letter sent from New Zealand   24/1/2000 Dear Bob and Dot, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you both for your wonderful hospitality.  Ross and I were amazed at how every detail had been taken care of - with lots of extra touches thrown in, from the personalised welcome sign to the fresh fruit. The bed was so comfortable, a great plus after many of the beds we have slept in around the world.
