Category 5e has replaced Category 5 as the standard for Data cabling.
CAT5e specifies the performance criteria up to 100 MHz.
Suitable for :-
                      Telephone Voice
                      10 MB Ethernet (10Base-T)
                      Fast Ethernet (100Base-TX)
                      Gigabit Ethernet (1000Base-T).
Panduit Category 5 POWERSUM+™ Connectivity Products will support the emerging copper based Gigabit Ethernet (1000 Base TX) application designed to run on Category 5 cabling systems, as defined in TIA/EIA 568-A and TSB 67.

The 1000 Base TX specification utilisers all 4 pairs of a CAT5e cable for a full duplex simultaneous transmission. Panduit POWERSUM+™ Category 5 Powersum compliant connectivity products are designed to provide superior performance for this multi-pair transmission application.

The MINI-JACK™ Modular Jack connector’s forward looking design allows installers to terminate rapidly without the use of a punchdown tool and maintains cable integrity by virtually guaranteeing less than half an inch of conductor untwist. Best of all, the connector meets Category 5e performance levels.

Utilizing GIGA-TX ™ Technology, the new MINI-JACK TX-5e™ Modular Jack was the first jack specifically designed to exceed the new, more stringent TIA Category 5e specifications. This connector’s state of the art design virtually eliminates conductor untwists and does not require the use of a punchdown tool

Panduit Mini-Jack - Contacts plated with 0.013mm of gold. Available in 11 standard colours.

Panduit 110 frame The PAN-PUNCH™ 110 Punchdown System provides a better choice for Category 5e punchdown applications. It provides total compatibility with existing 110 systems yet is designed to accommodate today’s high performance cables. The bases feature a deeper channel, allowing the installer to bring the cable jacket up to the point of termination, maintaining cable twists.

Pan-Plug High Performance Modular Plugs are designed for Category 5 system applications. The plug provides consistent high performance resulting in greater channel headroom. It features an easy release tangle free design to speed patch cord installation and save time on moves, add and changes. The plug also features guide ramps to facilitate easy conductor insertion.

PAN-PLUG simplifies termination due to a unique process which requires no loading bar. The guide ramp facilitates easy conductor insertion and termination. Simplified termination means fewer pieces required and reduces handling of small parts, thereby reducing total installation cost!

Category 6 cabling and associated connectors used for duplex signalling of 250 Mbps'
In addition to CAT5e it has increased bandwidth, reduce transmission errors and may be an advantage for new developed networking hardware.

Suitable for :-
                      Telephone Voice
                      10 MB Ethernet (10Base-T)
                      Fast Ethernet (100Base-TX)
                      Gigabit Ethernet (1000Base-T)

The PANDUIT NETWORK CONNECTIVITY GROUP offers the GIGA-CHANNEL™ System to provide the optimum solution for proposed Category 6 applications. The GIGA-CHANNEL System includes the MINI -JACK TX-6™ Modular Jack, the GIGA-PUNCH™ Punchdown System, TX-6 Patch Cords and TX-6 Modular Patch Panels.

Using Panduit’s unique GIGA -TX Technology, the MINI-JACK TX-6™ Modular Jack continues Panduit’s tradition of high performance and ease of installation. The TX-6 Modular Jack retains critical conductor pair twists through a forward motion termination. The GIGA-TX termination also places no localized stress on critical internal components for maximum reliability.

TX-6 Patch Cords feature next generation stranded cable and enhanced performance modular plugs for superior performance. Patch cords are offered in a variety of sizes and cable colours to meet individual length and colour coding requirements. Each patch cord is 100% performance tested and is 100% backward compatible. Modular plugs feature a tangle free latch, which prevents snags when pulling cable. Each patch cord is compatible with T568A and T568B wiring schemes.

TX-6 Modular Patch Panel
The TX-6 Modular Patch Panel Kits feature the new MINI-COM TX-6 Module with GIGA-TX Technology. Patch panels are available in 24 and 48 port configurations. Front removable faceplates allow front access of installed modules facilitating faster moves, adds and changes. Icons and optional labels are available to clearly identify each port and panel. Patch panels mount to standard EIA 19" racks, or 23" racks when used with optional extender brackets.

Panduit Giga-TX 110 & Modular RJ45 strip

The GIGA-PUNCH™ Category 6 Punchdown System is the world’s first high density, high performance connecting block solution. This revolutionary product allows for the installation of up to 44% more voice and data cables in the same space as conventional 110 systems. The GIGA -PUNCH System provides more than just high density, this system provides performance in excess of the latest TIA Category 6 specifications.

The PANDUIT NETWORK CONNECTIVITY GROUP leads the industry into the world of small form factor designs with the OPTI-CHANNEL™ System. The OPTI-CHANNEL System includes the OPTI-JACK® Fiber Optic Connector, OPTICOM™ Fiber Optic Enclosures, patch cords and termination kits.

The PANDUIT NETWORK CONNECTIVITY GROUP provides industry standard ST, SC and FC Connectors, which are field installable with the same installation procedures as the OPTI-JACK Connector. They are available in multimode and single mode versions and provide complete modularity with the MINI-COM ® System.

The OPTI-JACK® Connector, Panduit’s version of the Fiber Jack Connector, was the industry’s first small form factor, RJ-45 style fiber optic connector. The Fiber Jack Connector provides superior performance for both single mode and multimode applications in a robust, fixed orientation, duplex high-density design. The Fiber Jack Connector is the model for the TIA FOCIS-6 Fiber Jack standard. Pre-polished versions are available to speed field installations.

Panduit OPTI-Jack

OPTICOM™ Fiber Optic Enclosures are designed to effectively manage optical fiber connections. They can be used with OPTI-JACK Connectors and with ST, SC and FC Connectors. OPTICOM Enclosures are available in rack and wall mount versions and can be customized to meet multi-media requirements.

Gigabit Ethernet is the most recent Ethernet development.
Data speed is 1000 Mega bits pre second (1 gigabit per second Gbps)
1000 Base-T requires all four pairs of the data cable. Each pair is used to transmit and receive data  (full duplex).
Each pair in a Gigabit Ethernet (1000 base-T)  installation will transmit data at 250 Mbps, all four giving 1000 Mbps.
Each pair in a 10 Base-TX or 100 Base-T installation transmits data at 100 Mbps, only one pair is used to send data.
All future cabling installations that will be using Gigabit Ethernet hardware should minimally use CAT5e cabling.
CAT6 cabling will add increased bandwidth, reduce errors and may be an advantage for new developed networking hardware.

A Gigabit Ethernet installation will require :-
Cabling     -  CAT5e or CAT6 cabling and associated outlets, Patch Panels, Patch leads.
Hardware  -  1000 Base-T Network Interface Cards, Hubs and or Switches.
