Balranald

Balranald, located along the Sturt Highway between Mildura and Hay, is also situated on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. The town is the centre of the local sheep, timber, wheat and fruit industries, and is also a major service centre for tourists travelling east-west from Adelaide to Sydney/Brisbane. In the area is Yango Lake (10km east) which is popular for water sports and although far away, the Mungo National Park (150km north) has some interesting features such as the Great Walls of China sand dunes.
