Batemans Bay

Batemans Bay is an extremely popular holiday destination being so close to Canberra and Sydney. It has clean beaches, and is located at the mouth of the Clyde River (excellent for cruises). While the town centre lies where the Princes Hwy crosses the Clyde River, the residential "suburbs" sprawl along the coast some 6-7km, creating a certainly un-orthodox shaped town. The Princes Hwy only passes through a small section of the town (CBD), and despite a large population, driving through takes only a couple of minutes! Tourism is the main industry for the town, and its growth has only occurred in the last 10 years (1990's). I highly reccomend this place, along with many other towns along the NSW south coast for a holiday destination.
