Goulburn

Goulburn is the first regional city along the Hume Freeway, once leaving Sydney and is the Southern Tablelands major city. The town originally served as NSW's centre for police operations (the Police Academy still resides here), but is also now a farming and municipal centre. The main street is well looked after, and is perhaps more attractive now that the Hume Freeway bypasses the city. In the area is the Goulburn War Memorial easily seen on a nearby hill and the Big Merino on Hume Street, south west of the city.
