Laurieton, the largest of the string of towns surrounding the mouth of the Camden Haven River and associated waterways, is a picturesque town located 35km south of Port Macquarie and 10km east of the Pacific Highway. Set at the base of North Brother Mountain, the town has grown from a small fishing village in the 1960's to a popular holiday and tourist centre, perhaps due to the expansion of the nearby Port Macquarie. Laurieton is the commercial centre for the Camden Haven region with a good supply of accommodation and shopping facilities. Of interest in the area includes the lookout from North Brother, Dooragan & Crowdy Bay National Parks, Grants & Dunbogan Beaches (North Haven) and nearby Watson Taylor & Queens Lakes.
