Sussex Inlet is a definite retirement or holiday village, situated on a small inlet which branches off St Georges Basin, and opposite the Jervis Bay Commonwealth Territory (ACT). The beaches on St Georges Basin are easily accessible and the inlet is good for water sports. The town itself is almost an island thanks to man-made water frontage residential subdivisions, but the town hasn't had the injection of commercialism, if a quiet place is sought after.
