Wollongong

Wollongong is NSW's third largest city and is set amongst spectacular scenery and is located in an immaculate position of being wedged between mountains and the coast. While the local beaches and Lake Illawarra are excellent for surfing, swimming and fishing, the main industry in the city is the Port Kembla steel works, which dominates the city skyline. Mt Keira lookout, west of the city centre holds perhaps the best view of the city (shown in the photographs below). I am due to return to Wollongong in the near future to spend some more time in the CBD - my visit this time was unfortunately restricted due to the setting sun.
