Woolgoolga

Woolgoolga, located just north of Coffs Harbour along the Coffs Coast, is a popular seaside town known for its beaches and fishing. Originally settled in the late 1870's as a timber village, the town grew slowly until the 1930's when banana plantations were established, attracting a substantial amount of Indian settlers. Indian influence is still evident around town with several restaurants, temples and other cultural centres in notable abundance. Of interest in the area includes the Guru Nanak Sikh Temple, Wedding Bells Forest (5km west - rainforest walks) and a series of surf beaches - stretching north through Arrawarra, Corindi and Red Rock to Sandy, Emerald and Moonie beaches to the south.
