Banana

Banana, a small town located in central Queensland lies at the junction of the Dawson and Leichhardt Highways. The name of the town (and its subsequent shire) is named after "Banana", a yellow coloured bull which was used by stockmen in the early days of settlement - a monument to Banana can be found at the northern Leichhardt/Dawson Highway junction. With the large town of Biloela 50km east and the mining town of Moura 20km west, Banana is essentially just a service town due to its key geographical position.
