Bunya Highway

The Bunya Highway, runs north-east south-west across the edges of south-east Queensland and provides the link from the Fraser/Cooloola regions to the Darling Downs. Starting at the Burnett Highway in Goomeri, the highway heads south-west across rich crop growing regions, passing through the towns of Murgon and Wondai before reaching the important South Burnett centre of Kingaroy. From Kingaroy, the highway continues south-west through a region dominated by maize, corn and cotton before climbing over the Bunya Ranges to reach the important Darling Downs centre of Dalby. Motorists continuing south-west will now follow the Moonie Highway. Motorists wishing to travel to the Fraser/Cooloola regions from Goomeri should follow the Wide Bay Highway.
