Cooroy, located just off the Bruce Highway lies about 20km inland from the popular Noosa Heads and at the foothills of Black Mountain. The town, settled in the 1890's is primarily a timber and dairying town however in recent times has become popular for residents escaping the rapidly developing Sunshine Coast for a quieter lifestyle. The town was built around the North Coast railway and uniquely has two town centres due to the sole railway crossing.
