Monto

Monto is a small town, located at the southern edge of central QLD on the Burnett Highway. While settlers arrived in the area in the mid 1800's, the town did not develop until after WW1 when land was resumed for the soldier-settlement scheme. Monto is essentially the centre for the surrounding dairy, grain, beef and timber industries.
