Nanango

Nanango is a small town located on the intersection of the Burnett and D'Aguilar Highways, 25km south-east of Kingaroy and in the South Burnett region. Gold was first mined here in the late 1800's, but nowadays is the nearby centre for the local beef, beans, grain and wine industries as well as the Tarong Power Station and Meandu coal mine. The town itself is quite nice - set in the small, lush valley with several old buildings still standing in the well looked after main street.
