Nebo

Nebo is a small, historic town that lies on the Peak Downs Highway between Mackay and Clermont. The town was established in the early 1880's when gold was discovered nearby at Mount Britton and although the gold deposits have since declined, the town is now an important service centre for motorists as well as a centre for the surrounding beef farming industries. In the area are the historic Nebo hotel (original Queenslander), the Pioneer Tracks of QLD Museum (in Nebo) and The Homevale National Park (50km north-west).
