Nerang

Nerang, a large town located about 15km west of Surfers Paradise adjacent to the Pacific Motorway, has retained its sleepy nature despite the nearby expansion and commercialism of the Gold Coast. Originally Nerang was the centre for the farming districts that lay between the Gold Coast and the Tamborine Mountains, however as the Gold Coast has grown, it too has slowly grown, but moreso as a satellite city to the Gold Coast offering cheaper housing and a quieter lifestyle. The town is quite pleasant - it is set on the banks of the Nerang River, has a small, albeit colourful town centre and has an excellent mountain backdrop.
