Pittsworth

Pittsworth, a thriving eastern Darling Downs town is located on the Gore Highway between Toowoomba and Goondiwindi. The town grew around a hotel opened by a squatter in the 1880's and eventually developed into a centre for the surrounding beef and sheep industries. In more recent times however with significant irrigation, dairy farming and grain/vegetable/cotton industries have become more prominent. The town itself, now bypassed by the Gore Hwy is pleasant with several tree lined streets and a busy shopping precinct.
